Candles are burning in the Jewish Cemetery in Vilkaviskis


I have just heard from Algis that he lit a candle in the Jewish Cemetery in Vilkaviskis for the memory of Shmarihyu Pustapetski

    It is so touching that Algis would light a candle in the Jewish cemetery in Vilkaviskis in memory of a Jew. He is a wonderful person. But it is also to Ralph's credit that he has awakened the very best in the people of Vilkaviskis.

    This blog is another of Ralph's admirable achievements. His passion for preserving the memory of his ancestral shtetl is contagious.

    One question: Was Shmarihyu Pustapetski buried in the old Jewish cemetery?
